  1. Explore the local sources of water and where it will come from in the future.
  2. Find out where your local water catchment goes to. Does your local stream or river eventually go to a lake or ocean?
  3. Make a home weather monitoring station to explore local rainfall and wind conditions.
  4. Drink tap water (filtered if necessary) rather than buying bottled water.
  5. Reduce the water used for flushing toilets. Get a half flush or low flush toilet, or put a brick in the cistern.
  6. Walk. Bicycle or take a train or bus. Only drive in a car if you must. Cars add far more carbon dioxide per person to the air than public transport.
  7. Don't burn toxic materials on bonfires or domestic fires.
  8. Eat less meat. It takes more water to grow and consume animals than plants.
